Drink/ No added sugar

On occasion when I am out and about I real fancy a thirst quenching drink, other that water – and there are often not many options out there when you fancy a sugar free drink. However there is Purdey’s… or is there?

My parents used to run a Health Food shop when I was a child and I loved it when by chance one of these bottle of tastiness reached there Best Before Date. However as I type this post it becomes clear that all might not be as “healthy” as it seems.

Purdey’s Rejuvenation Drink Ingredients: Fruit Juices From Concentrate 57% (Grape & Apple),  Carbonated Spring Water (42%), Natural Flavourings including Botanical Extracts (Damiana and Chinese Ginseng), Citric Acid, Vitamins (C Niacin, B6, Thianin, Riboflavin, Folacin, B12) Glucose.

I try to limit the amount of fruit sugars I have in my diet especially grape (as its high fructose), so for me it’s a special treat however I did not notice the “Glucose” before as the last ingredient sneaked on and when I further check the Purdeys packaging it doesn’t actually say its “Sugar Free” so it seems sadly it’s not.

All is not lost though as there are still Pret no nasties drinks and of course a cold bottle of mineral water will always go down a treat and easy to find in your hour of need.

Glucose is the last ingredient on the list so the quantity is next to nothing, possibly a carrier for the vitamins?
