Having mentioned them in my recent food diary, I thought I would do a posting about the fantastic herb oatcakes from Nairns. These are in my opinion the tastiest oatcakes in the Nairns range however they are the hardest to find. Although most supermarkets and healthfood shops stock Nairns oatcakes, it’s not oftern I see the herb oatcake flavour, so you will need to keep your eye out for the Nairns box with the yellow tartan top.
Herb Oatcakes ingredients:
Wholegrain Oats (74%), Pumpkin Seeds (12%), Palm Fruit Oil, Sunflower Oil, Tapioca Starch, Sea Salt, Raising Agent: Sodium Bicarbonate, Dried Thyme, Dried Rosemary, Dried Parsley.
The herb oatcakes have a texture which is between the standard rough and smooth oatckes with the herbs giving them a real depth of flavor. Great as a tasty snack with some houmous, a slice of chicken or even just on there own.
