Agar Jelly

I have made a couple of agar jelly flavours and last nights one was pretty tasty so I thought I would share with you all. Agar jellies are really light and refreshing much more so than a normal jelly and from my experimenting so far they always set slightly softer than a normal jelly.

Agar Jelly Ingredients – Serves 2

  • 1/4 fluid – I used apple and mango juice and 1/3 water
  • 2tsp Agar Flakes
  • Flavouring: Vanilla essence, Fresh lavender
  • Fresh fruit: Strawberries, Kiwi or Blueberries

Agar jelly

To make the agar jelly in a pan add the fluid and agar flakes, then whilst stirring gently heat for a few mins until the agar flakes have melted. If using the fresh lavender or vanilla essence add with the fluids to infuse the jelly.

In a small ramekin layer thin slices of strawberry, kiwi or a few berries. If required strain the lavender from the mixture then pour over the fresh fruits and leave in the fridge to set.

That’s it tasty and fresh agar jelly done!
